I'm Watching the Notre Dame Game on Saturday, Are You?

Yes, the crisis has been averted. Thanks to my lovely friend Amanda who has Direct TV and recently agreed to go halves with me to get the Sport Package for a month (including CSTV), I will be watching the Notre Dame game and it will only have cost me $5.50. WOOHOO!!!

Apparently there is mass hysteria in South Bend over the fact that the Notre Dame game isn't nationally televised.

Wow. You really want to watch this game?

I mean... I suppose I should too, seeing as how i've only seen bits and pieces of a couple of games this year, but it'll probably be boring. (I hope I'm not jinxing it.)

By the way, I read a piece on ESPN.com about the managers. Apparently now they do game prep on Mondays now. Lazy bastards.

Click here, then click on "How To"

Monday? What kind of sacrifice is that? They probably don't even paint the helmets outside anymore either? So your finger doesn't get numb from dipping it in paint thinner the whole time. Ahh...the memories, spending an hour buffing Abram Elam's freakin helmet and not being able to feel my fingers or toes. The good times!!

Ahh, buffing. I'm not sure I ever got the hang of it. And who the hell ever decided that it was safe to dip our digits into paint thinner?

I don't know. My favorite part of game prep was sitting in the locker room at midnight on a Friday night, picking mud out of their cleats with a freakin' dining hall knife, knowing that I had to be back in the very same spot less than 8 hours later.

...But that's just me.

WAIT. Bryan. Why the HELL aren't you watching ND football this season?

And.

I just checked on my ND watchign ability - It's on channel 151. Which I get. And I've already set the TiVo to record it.

Oops. I guess I should have clarified, Marcia. Being fairly low on the corporate (and financial) totem pole, I am currently working 2 jobs, one of which involves me working weekends, mostly during ND games, unfortunately. It's not like I want to not be watching, but it's something that's more or less out of my control.

That said, I'm working 7-2 tomorrow and I just realized I set an appointment to go apartment hunting at 4 (just as the game is starting). Oops!

Is there any way for you to send me the TiVo? I'd be most appreciative :)

Ok, its my understanding that they don't paint helmets outside anymore because some woman who was observing said helment painting passed out from the fumes of the paint, and sued (is suing?) the university.

Now, perhaps this is just rumor (more than likely), but at the same time, since frivolous lawsuits are at an all-time high these days, and God knows the university its a great target, so I don't think its outside the realm of possibility.

Ahh yes, the scraping of dirt off of cleats. I also like the time when Setta's laundry came back with just a pair of socks and I had to rumage through his disgusting locker to find the rest of his clothes.

Oh sure, an alum complains and they move the buffing into a confined space...great for the managers!!
